During any given week here in Naples, there is lots going on. The pace picks up as the holidays approach and certainly as our northern visitors and seasonal residents arrive. This week, let’s take a peek at what’s going on locally; it’s a sampling of what every week offers here in Paradise!

 

  • Read! Chime in during a book discussion on the 18th at the Naples Branch of the Collier County Public Library. This week’s discussion features the selection for One Book, Southwest Florida: Gertruda’s Oath. Or if you prefer to talk gardening, check out the Master Gardener Walk in Clinic at the Headquarters Library on Orange Blossom. 
  • Catch a Movie on the Lawn! Bring the kids to The Mercato on November 18 for a free showing of The Lego Movie. Valet parking is free. Bring your blanket or lawn chair.
  • Tap your feet!  You’ll love The Spitfire Grill at the Naples Players on Fifth Avenue South. Shows nightly Wednesday through Saturday at the Sugden Theater. 
  • Go Chocolate! Sign up for the most unique tour of Naples going...the 2 pm Chocolate Stroll on Fifth Avenue South on November 20. Skip lunch and try this one on for size!
  • Get Sandy! Head up to Fort Myers Beach on November 21 to check out the 28th AnnualAmerican Sand Sculpting Championship. Rain or shine, daily through November 30. You won’t believe the fantastic sand creations!
  • Go “Crazy”! Enjoy Sweet Dreams: A Tribute to Patsy Cline at the Norris Center on November 21. (One show only - don’t miss it!)
  • Cook! On November 22, take a cooking class at The Local and pick up some healthy Thanksgiving cooking ideas. 
  • Walk! Check out a guided walking tour featuring Birds of the Garden on November 22 at the Naples Botanical Garden
  • Sing! Join the Voices of Naples on November 23 in the 12th Annual Sing Along Messiah. (It’s fine if you just listen, too!) 
  • Browse! Don’t forget the traditional 3rd Avenue South Farmers Market every Saturday. Fresh produce, guacamole and other local products, baked goods, and a touch of local art make any Saturday special. Park behind Tommy Bahama. 
  • Putt! Take to the links at Arrowhead Golf Club, voted Naples’ best public course. Save $10 on weekends, but you’ll love this course any day of the week.
